Site
Schwendau is situated at the
back of the Zillertal, at about 23 km distance from the motorway
exit Zillertal/Wiesing. Schwendau, at the west bank of the Ziller,
has approx. 1.500 inhabbitants and belongs, together with Mayrhofen,
at the east bank of the Ziller, to the Touristic Region
Mayrhofen-Hippach. Schwendau/Mayrhofen is located at an altitude of
620m, with a view on many beautiful over 3000m high mountains,
ski-areas and climbing rocks of the central Alps.
Ski area:
Zillertal 3000, is the village ski-area. The valley station of this
ski-area is very easy to reach from the Stiegenhaushof. This
ski-area is one of the largest of the Zillertal offers endless
kilometers of piste, very modern lifts and artificial snow
installations for a snow secure and comfortable holiday.
Traffic connection:
Schwendau/Mayrhofen can be reached over the B169, the
"Zillertalbundesstrasse". With public transport you can use the
Austrian Federal Railways until Jenbach. There you can change to the
"Zillertalbahn". You have to get off at the train at the station
Ramsau-Hippach or Mayrhofen.
